Australian Pre-decimal Coins. 

The first Australian Commonwealth coins arrived in a shipment on the 1^st March 1910 aboard the R.M.S, Otranto. These shillings were minted by the Royal Mint in London. The other silver denominations, florins, sixpences and threepences, arrived later that year. These bore the bust of Edward V11 crowned and robed facing right with the Arms of the Commonwealth of Australia on the reverse

It wasn’t until 1911 that our halfpenny and penny and as Edward V11 had died in 1910 the new copper currency bore the bust of George V crowned and robed facing to the left.
