The coin is struck by The Perth Mint from 1/2oz of 99.9% silver in proof quality and is the 4th in a series of 5 to be released.
The coin’s reverse depicts an octopus in colour and includes The Perth Mint’s ‘P’ mintmark. Incorporated into the design are the inscriptions AUSTRALIAN SEA LIFE II – THE REEF – OCTOPUS.
Issued as legal tender under the Australian Currency Act 1965, the coin’s obverse depicts the Ian Rank-Broadley effigy of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II and the 2012 year-date.
It is a limited release of only 10,000 and is presented in an attractive display box with an outer colourful shipper. The coin is accompanied by a certificate of Authenticity
