Back by popular demand the mint has brought back Australia's six standard circulating decimal coins. With the Kangaroo design back on the dollar coin the mint has used the latest technology in conjunction with the CSIRO and used the holographic format on the dollar coin. The five kangaroos appear as multi-coloured, iridescent holograms that make our $1 coin virtually 'Come Alive'. The fine pattern of grooves applied to the surface of the coin results in the coin having an iridescent holographic image as the coin is tilted
